Colman National Fish Hatchery released their entire baby salmon stalk of Sacramento River Fall Run Chinook Salmon during the peak of the striped bass run on the Sacramento River, in three different scheduled releases during this month of April, 2017.  Although the Sacramento River has sustained high and dirty water conditions this month the striped bass who are the ultimate predator, locate and specifically target them in any river condition. Even fallow them from deep in the interior Sacramento River and fallow the bulk of the smolt (baby salmon) all the way through the river system, consuming them the whole way down river. Heads are turned and excuses made disregarding this annual event as a real problem. Mike Rasmussen of SalmonSacRiver.com recognizes this serious problem and would like to address all naysayers with a statement.  "Wake The Fuck Up.. Ca. The underwater video footage was a quick look into the world below the surface. A pack of a half dozen striped bass to 30 pounds is pictured patrolling their school of American Shad.
