Sacramento River Fishing Report For January 23, 2018. Striped Bass Fishing Report / Northern California
This striped bass smashed the 11 inch Gcj Custom Glide in the Kokanee pattern. This fish was caught by pro bass angler PJ from Lake Co. California. PJ was fishing the Sacramento River for striped bass with Sacramento River fishing guide Mike Rasmussen of Mike's Guide Service. "Matching the hatch", worked well for the duo who hooked a half dozen stripers on their trip, up to 30+ pounds. The smallest being around 12 pounds, and all the stripers kept were stuffed with 8" to 12" steelhead juveniles released by Coleman National Fish Hatchery, and headed for the Pacific Ocean. It looks to be a road for the young steelhead as they have been getting devoured. Buffet style gorging on their behalf as the stripers are eating them day and night.
